While growing up in Brazil playing and watching the ‘beautiful game’, I didn’t realize I was incorporating coaching and sport science into my life. I was passionate about the sport, the World Cup, the Olympics, and later realized that along with education, I could further the playability, visibility, and enhance the performance of the game. Game? Who said that? I feel as it as a culture, a way of life, a ‘religion’ as many embraces it in Brasil.

Beyond talent, coaching, and teaching of the game, the mental performance in and out of the field determine success or failure. The latter still teaching us so much. There is no missing lesson, coaching can be simple, performing at its best is the challenge. I have embraced this journey for over 30 years and still delighted with the game and its joy as it were my growing up days.
